February 2015 Board Meeting
Your board of directors was back at it once again with their February board meeting. We continued our efforts and dedication to steer the organization forward as so many boards have done before us. As we look forward, it is quickly becoming that time of year for us to accept nominations for open board positions in the 2015-2016 KCSAE year. The nominating committee is being selected, we have validated the current job descriptions, and the communication about those openings were emailed late February. If you’re interested in applying, you can begin to check out the application here. If you have any questions about any of the positions please reach out to any board member. We would be happy to talk with you and hope you will consider volunteering your time to help KCSAE. Remember, like every volunteer opportunity, it’s only one hour a month! ☺
Additionally during the meeting the board focused on ensuring that its operations and direction are tied to the strategic plan as set forth by the board at the beginning of the fiscal year. During this meeting we reviewed the feedback from the recent member survey and discussed some of the key strategic items related to building a strong local community within the Kansas City area. We also discussed how to bridge and connect educational opportunities for you the member and profession and how to ensure information flow between and across committees to the board and vice versa. The board is continuing its commitment of focusing on supporting and educating the association professionals in the Kansas City area.
As the board continues to move in the direction we’ve set forth, we encourage you to let us know your thoughts and any suggestions you have for us to better meet your needs. We realize we’re only as good as the information we have to act on and we want to best support you as we can. You can find a listing of the current board members here or contact KCSAE directly here. We look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Trevor S. Mitchell, CAE
President-Elect KCSAE
